Tutorial 1: Sign Up

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create and login to your account on Communalytic and sign up as a new user. This tutorial will demonstrate how to sign up for our EDU version.

Step 1

To create a new account, scroll down and click on the “New EDU User” button on the Communalytic homepage.

Then after reading the steps, click the “Get Started” button

Next, you will need to sign in with your Google account to confirm your identity.

If your university/institution uses Gmail, please use that Gmail account to confirm your identity. Otherwise, please use a personal Google account. Our system will automatically verify accounts that use academic email addresses. If your university does not use Gmail, you will be prompted to enter your academic email address to confirm your academic affiliation.

Step 4

Next, you will be asked to enter some basic information about yourself. 

Enter your name, your university/institutional affiliation (e.g., Ryerson University), and your current position (e.g., Undergraduate Student). Select “Email Opt-In” if you would like to receive email notifications about your projects. Before clicking “Submit”, please review our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. By signing up, you agree to the Communalytic Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Once you have completed this step, click “Submit”. Your account is ready to go!


Sign-in/out as a Returning User:

Sign-In

To sign-in as a returning user, scroll down and click the green “Edu Login” button on the homepage.

Log-out: 1/2

To log-out of your Communalytic account, click the profile icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then, click the red “Logout” button.

As an important final step, click on the “click here” hyperlink to sign-out of your Google account. If you don’t, your Google Account will remain logged-in.
